19.06.26 Ukrposhta and KSE Foundation Donate UAH 1 Million to Feldman Ecopark to Support Animal Care and Rehabilitation Programs

Ukrposhta and KSE Foundation are providing UAH 1 million to Feldman Ecopark for animal feed and the development of rehabilitation projects! We are truly grateful to have such friends and partners who share our values, and we sincerely thank Ukrposhta and the Foundation for their support and understanding. This UAH 1 million is the result of thousands of small contributions. It was raised through the sale of charitable postage stamp issues.

Like Feldman Ecopark, Ukrposhta’s facilities have been damaged during Russia’s attacks on Kharkiv. We are united not only by our love for animals and commitment to social responsibility, but also by the spirit of mutual support that the people of Kharkiv and all Ukrainians have maintained since the start of the full-scale invasion.

This support will help provide food for the animals of Feldman Ecopark throughout the summer season and contribute to the implementation of rehabilitation programs that are important for our country.

With these funds, over the next three months, we expect to:

• provide food for up to 2,000 animals;
• deliver urgent veterinary care to 50 animals rescued by the Animal Rescue Center «Good Home of Feldman Ecopark»;
• engage more than 5,000 Ukrainians in psychological relief sessions;
• provide 620 people with a full course of psychosocial rehabilitation.

This is incredibly important support during these challenging times, and we are deeply grateful to Ukrposhta, KSE Foundation, and our partners.

Stay with us — together, we can do more!

12.08.25 Film about Feldman Ecopark Premieres in U.S. Cinemas

The film Checkpoint Zoo, about Feldman Ecopark, is being released in U.S. theaters, Ecopark founder Oleksandr Feldman has announced.

“Friends, I am honored to present to you the official trailer of Checkpoint Zoo, a film about rescuing the animals of our Ecopark during that terrible spring of 2022. The wonderful director Joshua Zeman, who took the risk of coming to us three years ago, and the star producer Leonardo DiCaprio. The result is a very profound and vivid film that reveals to audiences around the world one of the aspects of the war in Ukraine, reminding them that both people and animals in our country have suffered and continue to suffer,” said Oleksandr Feldman.

According to him, since the beginning of the year Checkpoint Zoo has been screened at top international film festivals, earning 13 of the most prestigious awards. Starting on August 15, the film will be shown in U.S. cinemas. “This is especially important now in light of recent geopolitical events and the tremendous value of ensuring that public opinion in America remains firmly on Ukraine’s side. After its run in the U.S., we eagerly await this very important film being shown in theaters in our own country,” Feldman emphasized.

22.07.25 Feldman Ecopark has resumed its free rehabilitation programs for people with visual and hearing impairments

The projects «Ukraine Sees with the Heart» and «Ukraine Hears with the Heart» were developed by specialists from the Ecopark’s Center for Psychosocial Rehabilitation to achieve the greatest possible therapeutic effect for these groups of Ukrainians — people for whom navigating the world, especially during wartime, is significantly more difficult.

Animal-assisted therapy, involving direct tactile interaction with animals from the contact group, plays an important role within the framework of psychotherapeutic sessions. According to the program’s authors, such interaction not only lifts the mood and enhances perception of the surrounding world, but also has an overall positive effect on psychological well-being — helping with adaptation and reducing fear of the unknown.

The Feldman Ecopark Center for Psychosocial Rehabilitation has existed since 2013, and from the very beginning, working with people with visual and hearing impairments has been among its priority areas. For many years, rehabilitation sessions at the Ecopark have been attended by patients from specialized boarding institutions for children and adults with such impairments — and they have consistently noted the positive impact of these sessions.

The recently resumed sessions within the projects «Ukraine Sees with the Heart» and «Ukraine Hears with the Heart» have sparked considerable interest among both adults and children with visual and hearing impairments. As a result, Feldman Ecopark is seeking support from Ukrainian and international partners to scale up these initiatives and expand the opportunities to involve as many participants as possible.

16.07.25 White tiger cubs Dexter and Dakota are growing up at Feldman Ecopark

White tiger cubs Dexter and Dakota were born in Feldman Ecopark this spring. So now they are not quite babies anymore — the tiger cubs are growing and getting stronger right before our eyes. Friendly and playful, they’ve already become true internet stars.

Dexter and Dakota faced serious trials in the first weeks of their lives — their own mother suddenly abandoned her children. Thankfully, the Ecopark staff stepped in to raise the cubs — and they weren’t alone. A wonderful helper joined the mission: a dog named Chili adopted the little tigers as her own. She takes constant care of them, protects, and accompanies them on every walk. Surrounded by love and attention, the cubs are healthy, happy, and thriving.

White tigers are incredibly rare animals. According to scientists, tiger cubs with white fur are born in nature in only one out of 10,000 cases. So far, we know only about white tigers kept in zoos. There are about 130 of them (most of them are in India) and all of them are descendants of one single white tiger caught in 1951. In Feldman Ecopark, the white tigress Alba gave birth to such cubs several times.

26.11.22 Demining and cleaning of the territory are ongoing at Feldman Ecopark

Preparation for the restoration of the Ecopark is in full swing! Where it is already safe, the area is being cleaned up, buildings that cannot be restored are being dismantled. It is a pity that the modern buildings that we were proud of were destroyed — the premises of the Children’s Academy, the enclosures of great apes and many others. Also, a serious problem is that a large number of trees are seriously cut by shrapnel. It’s hard to watch the Ecopark like this… But we do not lose optimism. The reconstruction plan will be ready soon. After the completion of mine clearance (it will take several weeks), dismantling and construction works will be carried out at all the affected facilities. We will work all winter and invite volunteers, all those who are not indifferent to join us.

19.11.22 A special Feldman Ecopark Recovery Fund has been created

Dear friends!

A special Feldman Ecopark Recovery Fund has been created. Right now, when the country is heroically fighting the consequences of enemy strikes, when Ukraine is returning to light, heat and water with the help of power engineers, rescuers and public utilities. At this incredibly difficult time, we are taking a decisive step towards restoring the park. We are not afraid of anyone and we know for sure that victory is on our side. Because we will never give up.

I sincerely grateful to everyone who responded to a message about the restoration of the park. Thank you for the kind words of support that we receive from all over Ukraine and the world. Thank you for the invaluable financial assistance that goes to the Recovery Fund. All funds are exclusively targeted and go to the maintenance of our migrant animals, to critically necessary activities related to demining, clearing, and providing safe conditions for starting construction on the territory of the Ecopark.

Today, in a difficult wartime, when there is a lot of pain around, humanity, kindness and willingness to help and support are the most valuable qualities. These qualities make us human — unconquered and free. Evil is always dependent and cowardly .

We have always known that we have many friends. Thank you everyone.

We will definitely restore our Ecopark! Together! Destroyed, wounded today’s Ecopark will be literally revived from the ashes. Because it was and remains the territory of love. To people, to animals, to nature — to everything that is priceless, that gives strength to live, believe and win. Ecopark is a real people’s park. Entrance to it after the restoration will forever remain free.

17.08.22 Kharkiv lilac is now in Germany

The works of Ukrainian artists which were presented at our Unconquered Art charity auction already decorate houses in many countries of the world. USA, Canada, Poland, Israel, Austria, and even distant Ecuador. 30.06.22 It was one of the most difficult operations to evacuate our animals from shelling

Shells were hitting very close to the camel enclosures, the animals were very scared, dehydrated, and many of them were injured. To take out frightened large animals from dangerous territory is a very difficult task, and when shelling begins during the evacuation, the difficulty is multiplied tenfold. But our rescue team coped with it perfectly well, neither people nor animals were harmed that time.
We are deeply grateful to both the rescuers and the employees of Ukrainian zoos, who accepted our animals and surrounded them with care. Thanks to their professionalism and the warmth of their hearts, the camels have changed. Today they are completely calm, and recovered from stress, injuries and illnesses. And they are provided with everything necessary.
No one was prepared for the fact that the war would come to Feldman Ecopark on the very first day of the invasion and destroy everything that had been created for 10 years. But thanks to the huge support that we received when we got into trouble, we managed the main thing — to save the animals. And after the Victory, we will definitely restore our Ecopark and make it even better!

26.06.22 Life of every living being is the main value

It’s good to know that the huge efforts that we made during the three spring months, the huge risk that our employees and volunteers took to save the animals — all this was not in vain. Animals, such as these capuchins, have already fully adapted to their temporary home, calmed down, their good mood and appetite returned. Those who needed it got rehabilitation procedures. Of course, there are certain difficulties in order to create the best possible conditions for all Ecopark animals transferred to different parts of Ukraine, to provide them with high-quality food and care. 16.06.22 We cannot allow ourselves to get tired

Purchase, packing, transportation, distribution. And so day after day, month after month, tons of products, thousands of packages. But it does not turn into a routine and does not get «boring». Because every day people are waiting for us, and in their eyes, in their emotions, we see that this help is needed. It is clear that while the war is going on, as long as the front line is close enough to Kharkiv, and it continues to be shelled, the humanitarian situation in the city will not be able to normalize. Therefore, we cannot allow ourselves to get tired, frustrated, discouraged, or change priorities. We believe in ourselves, we believe in our people, we believe in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and in our Victory!

14.06.22 Oleksandr Feldman: «Don’t turn humanitarian aid into a competition.»

The wave of inquiries from the media about the amount of humanitarian aid that we distributed has resumed again. Written and oral requests which boil down to two questions: how much humanitarian aid was distributed and how much was spent on it? There are also those who ask: «And is this more than that of…» and then there are names and surnames. There are other, in my opinion, dubious approaches: «We rank humanitarian aid…» Or — «And how do you fight with those who receive your packages several times during one distribution?»

Friends, I’ll answer all at once. First, I am a categorical opponent of ranking humanitarian aid. In terms of quantity, and even more so in terms of quality. Moreover, there are not and cannot be «first» and «last» among those who consider it necessary to support people in wartime. Don’t turn it into a competition and don’t make «tournament tables» with leaders and outsiders. Humanitarian aid is not only about how many food packages were distributed and how much each of them costs. This includes assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, medical institutions, rescue of animals and ensuring their maintenance in safe places. Yes, it takes quite a lot of money. I will answer to all of those who especially persistently want to calculate the amount of “humanitarian food aid”: we distributed about 540 thousand food packages and provided about 30 thousand hot meals.

Secondly, I do not look into other humanitarian aid packages — we form our own packages, the contents of which we are not ashamed of.

Thirdly, we do not «fight» with people who receive packages several times. Let’s not stoop to cynicism. When there is a war that has touched everyone, the word «struggle» has the most direct meaning. And certainly, this «fight» should not be with people who came for humanitarian aid.

Today is generally the time of direct meanings of words. And humanitarian aid is directly related to humanity, that is, to humanity in relation to people.

06.06.22 We are grateful to everyone who helps Feldman Ecopark

Despite all the difficulties, Feldman Ecopark continues to live! Yes, its territory lies in ruins, and the animals have dispersed to different parts of Ukraine, but this only encourages us to work even more actively. We are building temporary enclosures for our animals, providing them with food and care, and we are already thinking about how we will rebuild our Ecopark to make it even better and more convenient for the animals when they return home after the war, and for our visitors.
All this would not have been possible without the help of our many partners and friends: those who sheltered our animals, who help us with food and veterinary preparations, and also provide us with financial assistance. We gratefully publish the list of people who have helped us over the past week on the official website of Feldman Ecopark. Many thanks to everyone who supports us, together we will overcome all problems and hardships!

23.05.22 I’ll start again for the hundredth time

Oleksandr Feldman: «Even in our worst dreams, we could not imagine that war would come into our lives. All our pre-war problems, sorrows and disappointments today seem small and insignificant. We have rethought a lot of things, “rebooted ourselves” in terms of values. And most importantly, we managed to preserve the human in ourselves, sometimes in inhuman conditions. We remained human despite bitter losses and casualties.
I am one of many who have lost almost everything that has been created over the years, what I was proud of, what I put my soul into. Significantly damaged by enemy fire Shopping center Barabashovo, the destroyed office of the AVEC Concern, destroyed Ecopark. I am 62 years old, a significant part of my life has been lived, and l have to start everything from scratch. Despite all the difficulties, our huge loans and obligations, all force majeure circumstances. We don’t need to look for any excuses for ourselves, we need to find the strength in ourselves every day to think about what we can do today. I put up for sale all my collections, which I collected for decades. I am parting with them with sadness, but without regret. Because today everything should work for victory, support and revival.
Pain, suffering, sometimes despair. No one should be ashamed of tears during the war. This is not a sign of weakness. Because the strong is not the one who does not cry, but the one who smiles through tears. I saw the smiles of Kharkiv residents who were forced to live in the subway, because their apartments were completely destroyed. They found the strength to support each other, to help strangers.
There are those who have lost faith and hope, who are depressed and come in complete despondency. I want to appeal to all those who have “lost the spirit”. Friends, our main strength is faith. Faith in our army, in those who today start the battle in the fields for our future harvest, in our communal services, who, despite everything, ensure the vital activity of our cities, in each of our volunteers, in each of our doctors and teachers who remain true to their profession. These are strong-willed people who believe in themselves and in their strength. Our victory, our rebirth, our future depends on the strength of our spirit. We can do anything, and we can do it all.»

19.05.22 Help in wartime is not a competition

People ask me how much humanitarian aid we have already distributed to Kharkiv residents since the beginning of the war. I think this question is simply unethical. This should not turn into some kind of competition: who, how much, what, in tons, trucks, etc. There are people who actively help Kharkiv and the residents of the city. And they do not use it to promote themselves. We have been purchasing and are purchasing products in hundreds of tons, the essential products. But it is cynical to measure aid in wartime solely in quantitative terms and meanly try to convert it into something and to wait for some kind of recognition or gratitude.

17.05.22 The dilapidated AVEC Gallery will host an exhibition-auction Unconquered Art

The AVEC Gallery, the premises of which were partially destroyed during the March bombardments of Kharkov, will open its doors to visitors for the first time since the beginning of the war. On June 1st, Children’s Day, a charity exhibition-auction Unconquered Art will open there.
The exposition will feature works by Ukrainian artists of various trends and schools, which anyone will have an opportunity to purchase. All funds received from the auction will be used to support children who are being treated in Kharkiv hospitals (including those affected by the war), help the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as to restore the Feldman Ecopark destroyed by Russian invaders.
“In past years, we held several charity auctions under the slogan “Art saves”. Today, this slogan is more relevant than ever — with its help we will save children, save Ukrainian soldiers, revive our Ecopark, animals of which have been taken to different parts of Ukraine. The auction will feature 25 paintings from my personal collection and from the collection of the International Charitable Foundation Oleksandr Feldman Foundation in honor of the 25th anniversary of our foundation, among them there are paintings that have suffered from the bombing. The enemy is destroying paintings, destroying galleries and parks, but he won’t be able to defeat us anyway. We are united and strong, and we will restore everything that was destroyed,” said the initiator of the auction, People’s Deputy of Ukraine Oleksandr Feldman.
Entrance to the exhibition-auction Unconquered Art in the Gallery «AVEK» (Kharkiv, Sumskaya St., 70) is free.

Public transport in the city is paralyzed, it is difficult for many people to get to grocery stores. They need help and support, so we will continue our work and invite all charitable organizations that have the opportunity to deliver food to Kharkiv to join us. Together we can do more!

12.05.22 Together we will overcome all difficulties

Those who stay all these two and a half months in Kharkov, who did not leave and bear all the hardships of the war, are mostly people who are bound to their homes and their district. Older people, people with special needs, those who ensure the life of the city under shelling — they clean, repair, make sure that there are light and water in the houses of Kharkiv residents. For some of them there is no way, and some have no time to provide themselves and their loved ones with the most necessary things — first of all, food. Therefore, day after day we continue to come to these people. Together we will overcome all difficulties and wait for Victory and peace!

11.05.22 Reindeers of Feldman Ecopark rescued from shelling come to their senses

Our reindeers were rescued from shelling and moved to a safe area a little over 10 days ago, and they are still recovering. They are not to be envied — at such a young age they have already been through so much. But they will definitely get better, time and care heal wounds. Everyone wants peace, and animals too. A little more time will pass, and we will again think about the population increase program for these rare animals, and not about saving them from the war. We believe in it! 10.05.22 After the Victory, a monument to the heroes who died while saving animals will be erected at the entrance to Feldman Ecopark

Oleksandr Feldman, the founder of the Ecopark: «Now, when the enemy continues to shell our cities and kill our people, we are all 24/7 solving pressing issues. But this does not mean that we do not need to think about what will happen tomorrow. The war will definitely end with our victory, the Ecopark will definitely be revived. And there will definitely be a monument to people who died saving animals. Work on it has already begun.
War is the worst thing that can happen, but it also gives us a lot of examples of real heroism and self-sacrifice at the front and in the outbacks, which we simply have no right to forget and will never forget. Among these heroes are the employees and volunteers of our Ecopark, who have been doing everything possible and impossible to save animals since the first days of the war. Risking their own lives, under constant shelling, they give thousands of innocent living beings a chance to live. These are real heroes, people with big hearts and beautiful pure souls.
Since the beginning of the war, six people have given their lives saving animals. Eternal memory to them and our immense gratitude. We will always remember them. Heroes don’t die, they stay with us forever. And the monument to them is a tribute of deep respect to their self-sacrifice and humanism.»

09.05.22 Turtles of Feldman Ecopark go to Poltava

We continue to transport Feldman Ecopark animals to their temporary homes in Ukraine. We evacuated these spur-bearing and Aldabra tortoises from the shelled territory of the Ecopark at the end of March. Unfortunately, not without casualties — one turtle died under shelling. But we managed to save most of these giants, and all this time they lived at my house, where, of course, they were not very comfortable. Now they are moving to the Kovalivka Ecopark near Poltava, where our colleagues have created comfortable living conditions for them. Many thanks to everyone who helps us save animals. We still have a lot of work to do so that all of them are provided with home comfort, food, and everything necessary to the maximum and wait for their return home, to the renovated peaceful Feldman Ecopark!

08.05.22 The champions from the Molossus kennel are already safe and recovering from stress

We have not yet told you about the fate of the Molossus kennel Santa House Feldman. It was located beyond Triozerye, that is in the most dangerous territory, remote from the rescue routes and close to the positions occupied by the Russian aggressors. The kennel buildings were completely destroyed. But thanks to the efforts of the staff of the kennel and the Feldman Ecopark rescue team, all the dogs were saved! Now they are in Poltava region and are recovering from the stress caused shelling. These are the champions who have represented and, we believe, will continue to represent Ukraine in the international arena.
All the Santa House Feldman equipment, stocks of veterinary preparations, food have remained on the territory of the kennel, but caring people did not leave our dogs without the most necessary things, they helped, and we are deeply grateful for that.
If you can also help these and our other animals, the details are here:

06.05.22 We are grateful for the invaluable help to our military and border guards

We would like to tell you about the people who have provided and continue to provide us with invaluable assistance in saving the animals of the Ecopark. These are our Ukrainian military and border guards whose positions are located near the territory of Feldman Ecopark. They are at the forefront, constantly risking their lives, giving all their strength to the fight against the aggressor and the defense of our native Kharkіv. And no matter how hard it is for them, they find time and energy to help our animals. They fed them when the situation did not allow our employees and volunteers to break into the Ecopark, they made sure that the integrity of the enclosures was maintained, and the animals did not run away, they helped us with the evacuation.
Thank you so much guys, you are real humans and real heroes. With such warriors, we never doubt our Victory for a moment!

05.05.22 Ecopark rescue team volunteer killed under shelling

Today, on May 5, during the evacuation of buffaloes from Feldman Ecopark, the team of our employees and volunteers got under fire. One person died. Two people were seriously injured. Doctors are fighting for their lives. The deceased boy was only 15 years old. He helped his parents to feed and evacuate the animals. The blessed memory of the hero will always remain in our hearts. This is the sixth victim from among members of our team.

04.05.22 Rescue team of Feldman Ecopark got under fire again

Previously, we did not show such videos much, since we did not want to escalate. But after a dirty information campaign accusing us of not wanting to take the animals out and not letting in someone who could come and pick them up was launched, we want to demonstrate how difficult it is and under what conditions our rescue team has been working for more than two months. These guys, however, have already taken out almost all of the 5,000 animals.
It is not only the life of animals, but also the lives of people at stake. And when organizing trips to the territory of Feldman Ecopark, our first goal is to save the lives and health of their participants. Very often our rescue operations have to be canceled due to shelling. This time, thank God, no one was hurt. We were accompanied by journalists — the operator of the TV channel Inter Alexander Yanovsky and ZUMA Press photographer, the winner of four Pulitzer Prizes, Carol Guzy. We are grateful to them for their courage, and we have no doubt that they will show the truth about the situation in the Ecopark. And the distributors of fakes and lies will be responsible for defamation in court.

04.05.22 Victory is approaching, and we continue to support Kharkiv citizens

Spring, sun and blossoming trees on one hand. War, destruction and people who need help — on the other. It is incomprehensible. But just like spring follows winter, our Victory will certainly follow the war. In the meantime, we continue to help those who are having a hard time today — the elderly, people with special needs, families with children and all Kharkiv residents who for various reasons now need support.

03.05.22 Heroes who actually save animals

These are our heroes-rescuers who continue to save animals of the Ecopark under shelling and have almost completed this operation of evacuating five thousand animals, which requires titanic efforts and great courage! They are very offended when the so-called animal rights activists who have not done anything themselves to help say that animals are left to the mercy of fate and that we are not doing enough to save them. Please show respect for the people who are constantly taking risks and doing very hard work to save the lives of living beings for weeks and months!

03.05.22 Tiger Banzai gets the necessary care

This is the tiger Banzai, which, according to the deceitful manipulations of UAnimals, we «left for dead.» Yes, he is old and sick, and the stress of the shelling has further worsened his health. But he is being watched, treated, regularly fed and watered. We sincerely hope that he will get better, because Banzai is our favorite, he is an old-timer of the Ecopark and several times gave offsprings in it. And so the people, who offered us to take the lions to Africa on a safari and received a categorical refusal, launched a slanderous information campaign against us, taking advantage of the enormous difficulties that the war brought us.
UAnimals, stop speculating on someone else’s grief! We ask everyone to trust only reliable sources of information, not to believe the provocations of manipulators and not to distribute them. Unlike our employees and volunteers who have been regularly breaking into the territory of the Ecopark under shelling for more than two months to rescue and feed animals, these speculators have never been in place, have not seen anything and are spreading only their own inventions!

02.05.22 Self PR on the tragedy will not make a profit

War is a terrible tragedy. But it also clearly shows who is who. Who comes to the rescue in a difficult situation and really saves and helps, and who uses grief for PR, scams and dubious profit. Feldman Ecopark has gotten under incessant shelling from the first day and experienced enormous difficulties. And due to the help of many caring people and organizations in Ukraine and around the world, we overcome these difficulties. We really appreciate it, this help not only allows us to get out of situations that seemed to be desperate, but also gives us faith in the future.
But, unfortunately, there are those who decided to use our grief to promote themselves. They post photos of dead and injured animals with some sadistic pleasure. For them, it’s just a picture that they use for their self PR. They spread half-truths and bald-faced lies, call for the rescue of those who are already safe, blame without understanding the situation (and often without even trying to understand it) and try to come between people. In particular, this position is taken by the rather well-known “animal protection” organization UAnimals, which widely uses such a dubious “hype” to raise money throughout the country.
But still there are incomparably more good people, and this is very pleasing. Without the help of thousands of people, the evacuation of our animals would not have been possible. This is 5 thousand species, and they all had to be taken out under shelling and placed somewhere, fed, cured of stress. Kharkiv, Kyiv, Odessa zoos, Arden park (Khmelnytsky region), Ecopark Kovalivka (Poltava region) and many others have helped us and are helping us. We’d rather talk about them than about those who spread slander and distort the facts. We ask everyone not to believe when you are shown photos of “abandoned” animals, which supposedly are still in the Ecopark. In fact, almost all of them have already been removed, and a few of those still remaining are under constant supervision, as far as possible due to shelling. They have not been forgotten. Please don’t let scammers drag you into their dirty games under the guise of «protecting» animals.

02.05.22 We did it!

Today we are pleased to announce that the main zoo collection of Feldman Ecopark has been saved, almost all animals have already been taken out and are safe. There is still a small group of ungulates, all of them are provided with food and the necessary care. For more than two months, members of our heroic team broke into the territory of the Ecopark every day under shelling to feed, water and evacuate our pets. This was not always possible, we could not pass this path without loss. But we did not give up, and I am sincerely grateful to our guys who constantly took risks to save the animals. We are all proud of you! As well as thousands of our friends and helpers in Ukraine and all over the world who helped us financially, sent food, materials and drugs, helped to take animals out and offered places for their temporary shelter. Your help is invaluable! Now we also face very difficult tasks. Our animals are now dispersed throughout Ukraine. It is necessary to build enclosures for them, provide normal living conditions, food, and veterinary care. And soon, we hope so very much, we will be able to begin the revival of our Ecopark. But that will be another story.

It was not possible to drive cars to their enclosures beyond Triozerye, so volunteers with moose had to run all the way to the main entrance of the Ecopark. The moose did everything right and calmly got into the car, thanks to their complaisance, the operation was carried out quickly. We are very glad that these animals are all right and are now safe!

30.04.22 Rescuing Ecopark’s moose is one of the most difficult operations

These moose have a difficult fate. They were brought as babies to Feldman Ecopark for rehabilitation from the Chernobyl zone, where they were badly damaged by a fire. But it turned out that they wound up in an even more difficult situation. Their enclosures were located beyond Triozerye: this territory was not only heavily shelled, but also mined, enemy SRGs had entered it. It was one of the most difficult evacuation operations. But our heroes-rescuers managed to cope, and now our moose are already going for rehabilitation near Poltava, to the Kovalivka Ecopark. We believe that everything will be fine with them!
Unfortunately, their elder friend, the favorite of the guests and employees of the Ecopark, a very kind and sociable moose cow Varya, died. The war brings many losses… But we do not despair, we continue to do our job, we believe in Victory, in the revival of Ukraine, Kharkov and our Ecopark!

Previously, the cars of our Automobile Club AVEC had been standing near the entrance to the Feldman Ecopark, all our guests loved to take pictures near them, it was one of our visiting cards. 14.04.22 Thanks to Poltava residents for their great help

I am deeply grateful to all the residents of Poltava and, separately, to the mayor of Poltava, Alexander Mamay, for the way they responded to our misfortune, came to the rescue and accepted animals which have been evacuated from shelling from our Ecopark. This is a huge hospitality and simply unprecedented support! I am sure that in the future our cooperation will only intensify, and what we will do together will be of interest to the whole Ukraine! Poltava and Kharkiv are close geographically, and after the war we will definitely implement a collaborative large-scale project that will unite us into a single tourist space. This location here, near Poltava, is so beautiful, and by joining forces and organizing the necessary conditions for animals, we can create Ukrainian Switzerland, which will attract tourists from all over Ukraine and beyond!

14.04.22 We continue to rescue animals no matter what

The results of one of the last bombings of the Ecopark. Until recently, it was a road that was used to evacuate animals. Next to it is a zebras’ aviary. Fortunately, they are no longer here, we have managed to take them out. The conditions under which our rescue team has to work are quite harsh. But our goal is to take out all the animals, and until it is not achieved, the team will not stop. Great job has already been done, but there is still a lot to do.

If you can help our team, the details are here:

13.04.22 Another batch of birds and ungulates has been evacuated from the «grey» zone

This is how the suburbs of Kharkov in the area of Pyatihatki village (on the way to Feldman Ecopark) look now. They are shelled no less than our Ecopark, and driving along this road is a very dangerous “entertainment”. But that does not stop our rescue team, and today another batch of birds and ungulates has been evacuated from the «grey» zone. Together with our numerous friends, we have done a great job already. Representatives of distant continents — Australian kangaroos, African lions, Madagascar lemurs, South American jaguars, Asian, African, American monkeys and many others are already safe. But we will continue until the last pig and goat leave the dangerous territory — after all, we are responsible for them.

13.04.22 People need to know that they are not abandoned

This video speaks louder than any words. A huge number of people always gather near our trucks delivering food and other necessary aid in the private sector and outlying districts of Kharkiv. These people haven’t left the city, they live under shelling, often, without electricity and water despite the heroic efforts of utility services. And they need aid in both basic products which are often just impossible to get in such areas, and simple support. They need the feeling that they are not abandoned, not forgotten, and others are trying to help them. Therefore, we continue to work for our people.

13.04.22 Thanks to the director of the Odessa Zoo Igor Belyakov

Many thanks to the director of the Odessa Zoo Igor Belyakov for his support in those difficult conditions the war has put us! We are grateful for the kind words addressed to our rescue team and for taking care of our lions. We have no doubt that they will be fine in Odessa, and that after the Victory they will return to our renovated Ecopark which will become even better!

12.04.22 We’ve taken out bears and Scottish cows from under shelling

Another rather difficult «working day» of our rescue team in the Ecopark. Today we managed to take out three brown and one Himalayan bear, as well as three Scottish cows. In addition, we managed to catch a reindeer who had run away from the bombed-out aviary earlier, and it was also evacuated. Except by the end of the working day, shelling intensified, they fired from Grads, and there was also a warning about an air raid, so it was not possible to take out more animals.
Regarding how many animals still need to be evacuated. At this rate, it will take another 15-20 rides. You can all see in what extremely nervous, life-threatening conditions this is happening. What our team is doing is simply unimaginable, and I cannot express in words how grateful I am to the guys who take huge risks to save animals.

12.04.22 We deliver humanitarian aid to remote districts of Kharkiv

Every day, the cars of our humanitarian headquarters bring food to Kharkiv residents in different districts of Kharkiv. Primarily, they go to remote districts where people suffer from shelling and have the hardest time getting to distribution points for humanitarian aid and supermarkets. And everywhere we meet a large number of people who need our help and support. This means that we will continue this work for as long as necessary. We are not alone – today the Foundation of Oles Dovgiy which has delivered a large batch of food products to Kharkiv and many other friends and partners are working with us. Many thanks to everyone who helps Kharkiv residents with us, and to all the numerous volunteer communities!

12.04.22 Our lions are heading to Odessa

Our lions and some other animals that were rescued yesterday from shelling in the territory of the Ecopark, are already on their way to a new temporary home in Odessa. Many thanks to the management and staff of the Odessa Zoo who, like so many of our colleagues in Ukraine and abroad, have expressed their readiness to accept our animals and take care of them. We have no doubt that our pets will be happy there!

11.04.22 Our team had a great day today!

We took out five large lions, a lion cub, a jaguar, as well as silver foxes, arctic foxes, and birds from the territory of the Ecopark. The team worked perfectly, despite the fact that at the end of our work, heavy shelling had begun. We ask you not to believe the information that is being circulated on social networks that our animals are abandoned and no one needs them. We work to save them every day and not a single animal will be left to their fate, be it a pig, a tiger or a bear. Tomorrow will be a decisive day in the struggle for the lives of large predators: the evacuation of bears and two tigers is scheduled. If the situation with shelling allows, the rescue of the predators will be over. The next stage is the evacuation of large ungulates: camels, Siberian ibex, markhor and others. Our team has a firm mood, we will not abandon anyone, all animals will be saved.

11.04.22 Almost 4,000 people have provided assistance to Feldman Ecopark in a week!

Over the past week, almost 4,000 people have provided assistance for the evacuation, treatment and food supply of Feldman Ecopark animals! This is almost as many as the entire number of people who have supported us in a previous period since the beginning of Russian aggression in Ukraine (that is, more than a month). Donations come from all regions of Ukraine, as well as from a number of other countries. In addition, a large number of payments come anonymously (including payments in cryptocurrencies), that means that in fact there are even more real friends who came to help us at this most difficult moment in the history of the Ecopark! Many thanks to everyone who supports us, this is really very important now: thanks to you, those of our pets who, unfortunately, remain in the line of fire, are provided with food, care and water, and an increasing number of them move to safer places. This process continues daily (if the shelling situation permits) and will not stop until the last animal is safe. In addition to financial support, this week we also have received numerous offers to assist in the transportation and accommodation of our animals. So it will not be an exaggeration to say that the whole country and many of our foreign friends take care of our animals in trouble, so we are confident in success. With great respect and gratitude, we continue to publish the names of our friends who have come to help us in this most difficult situation on the Feldman Ecopark website, and we also express our deep respect to those whose names remained behind the scenes. Your help is invaluable!

Rescue operations continue! Despite the constant shelling, our team managed to break into the Ecopark and take out a group of animals: foxes, caracals, badgers. Now we are one step closer to the goal: to take all of our animals out of the danger zone. To achieve this goal faster, we need your help.

10.04.22 We are grateful to everyone who has offered assistance

Dear friends! We have received so many offers to help animals of the Ecopark that we are simply not able to accept them all! Many thanks to everyone: mayors of cities, animal protection organizations, caring people who have mini-zoos or farms and have expressed their willingness to accept our animals. We are deeply grateful to you! But first of all, we proceed from the  interests of our animals, and our director Vitaly Ilchenko chooses places for them based on logistics, feed delivery, veterinary services, etc. Each new relocation, especially a long one, is an additional stress for the animals that have already suffered it because of the bombing. Therefore, today we prefer not to take our rescued pets to Europe, but to minimize the time of their transportation in transport cages. We are grateful to our foreign partners for their invitations, and I beg those people whose help we hadn’t accepted not to be offended. Together we have done a great work on saving animals, all we are one family, and we will definitely continue our cooperation! Once again, thank you very much!

10.04.22 The intensity of enemy shelling doesn’t allow to evacuate animals

Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to enter the territory of the Ecopark to evacuate animals for three days so far. The intensity of enemy shelling these days is so high that it is not even possible to drive up close to the territory. So there is no positive news yet. But we do not stop trying. As soon as the situation allows, our rescue team will immediately continue their work. The goal remains the same — to take all the survived animals to a safe area. We will not give up, because the humane treatment of animals is what makes us human.

09.04.22 Thanks to the Foundation of Oles Dovgiy

From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank the Foundation of Oles Dovgiy for the enormous assistance it provided to the Kharkiv region today. Stewed meat, condensed milk, various cereals, sugar, flour have arrived… Together we can do a lot! The whole Ukraine is helping Kharkiv today, tomorrow Kharkiv will return the favor to other regions if they need help.
I invite everyone who has such an opportunity to join our program. We have a lot of things to do: cooking porridge, delivering and packing food, delivering food for Kharkiv residents in remote areas of the city, to places where the majority are afraid to go, but people keep waiting for help while hiding in the basements from shelling. Hot food, sweets for children, a sincere smile and support — these things are worth a lot now.

09.04.22 Not an easy job — to rescue animals

The weight of an adult tiger is about 200 kg, slightly less if it’s a tigress. Loading this sedated body for evacuation under shelling is not an easy job. But our team can handle it. These animals are in a safe place now, they are doing well. But still lots of our animals, including large predators, remain in the territory of the Ecopark which regularly gets under shelling for a month and a half.

08.04.22 Very lucky cheetahs

These cheetahs are very lucky: they had been taken out just before the massive shelling of the Ecopark during which their aviary was destroyed. In case this happened a bit later, they could die or find themselves free, which would not augur well nor for them, nor for people who could meet the animals. Now they are doing well: they began to settle in their temporary dwelling near Poltava. We wish such a happy end for the maximum number of stories of salvation from war and shelling of our animals, so that we continue to work on their evacuation from the “grey zone”. And due to the support of our numerous friends, the issue of placing the animals in zoos and other convenient places for their housing in different regions of Ukraine is solving. You are able to support and speed up this process.

07.04.22 More than 80 animals were taken out from under shelling today!

Today we have a very successful and joyful day. Thanks to our team, which, without fear of shelling, worked on the territory of the Ecopark for seven hours, more than 80 animals were taken out! Huge thanks guys! I am also very grateful to the Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov. Thanks to his position and the position of the leaders of the Kharkiv Zoo, he took the “main blow” to the placement of our animals – we have already transported 23 of our pets there – great apes, white lions, white tigers, jaguars. Today we will also transport animals there. Many thanks also to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, Dnipro Mayor Boris Filatov and his deputy Mikhail Lysenko, as well as representatives of Odessa, Lvov, other cities of Western Ukraine and all those caring people who responded to our trouble. Thanks to such support, today we are fully confident that we will be able to take out all our animals without exception. The ones who survived. Today we saw the dead offspring of white tigers, panthers, jaguars and many other animals. It’s terribly sad. But the main thing is that we have something that not only inspires hope, but also leaves no doubt that everything will be fine. Our example shows that today in Kharkiv everyone is one, there is no difference for anyone between the zoo and the ecopark. This is our city, we do everything together and we will develop and rebuild the city after the war together.

07.04.22 Our humanitarian headquarters work at full capacity

The fact that in recent days we have been very closely involved in saving the animals of the Ecopark does not mean at all that the activity of our humanitarian headquarters has decreased — quite the contrary. The purchase of products is in full swing, many thanks to the retail chains and suppliers who meet us halfway, packaging, delivery — the work continues non-stop. Kharkiv residents, especially residents of outlying districts, are pensioners, families with children are waiting for us, which means we are going to them.

06.04.22 Our lions are in safety now!

Transporting lions is not an easy task. Especially when animals have been under stress from shelling for more than a month and, in general, from the fact that their calm and measured life has changed dramatically. But we coped with this, the main thing is that we safely left the shelling zone and neither people nor animals were injured. We received a lot of suggestions about where they can be settled — many thanks to all colleagues and friends for their help and understanding! There are still many animals on the territory of the Ecopark — everyone who is ready to financially support their further evacuation can do it here:

06.04.22 The rescue of our large carnivores is proceeding at a good pace

The process has begun and continues successfully! Today, our team in a fairly wide composition broke through to the territory of the Ecopark. And although there were shelling again, this did not prevent us from evacuating five lions and some other animals. A lion and lionesses today, two young lions, a jaguar and a panther yesterday — the rescue of our large carnivores is proceeding at a good pace. Thank you to our team working boldly here in the gray zone. Thanks to everyone who responded and agreed to shelter our animals, thanks to the people who help us with technology, equipment, and finances. We were not left alone with our problem, we just feel great support — and we will do everything so that the animals are saved and find a new home. Hopefully, temporarily — until our victory and the restoration of the Ecopark.
